117 Versatile and smooth-running rollers
add to Fast quotation

Roller series 117 is versatile, smooth running and silent conveyor roller

With its wide range of possible constructions, the 117 series offers extreme versatility in many areas of application. Commonly implemented in the transportation of packages, they are also well suited to handling pallets.

The rollers, smooth running and silent, are normally made in steel, but can be configured with a range of different materials and finishes.

The most common tube construction is in galvanised steel.

The steel shaft can be spring loaded (for rapid and simple fitting to conveyors), male threaded or drilled and threaded (these constructions are recommended in the case of medium or heavy loads, or when creating an overall structure that is extremely rigid).

The polyamide end caps house permanently lubricated shielded 2RZ radial ball bearings. Protection from external agents is further guaranteed by a labyrinth cover in polypropylene.

When constructed with a tube in PVC or AISI 304 stainless steel, combined with bearings and shaft in stainless steel, these rollers are ideal for installation in humid or corrosive environments and in food-related applications. The particular shape of the end caps, the precise couplings and the type of bearing used make them particularly sturdy and also applicable for support and/or belt transmission.

The standard 117 series is the most commonly used for the transportation of packages, offering a vast range of possible construction combinations. The tube, shaft and finishes can all be extensively personalised to satisfy the widest range of demands.

This series is intended for use in temperatures of between -5°C and +80°C (steel tubes) and between -5°C and +50°C (PVC tubes). Lower minimum temperatures are admissible, subject to verification of the conditions of use.

Main features
Smoothness and silent

Thanks to the combination of different materials used to create the product, silent conveyor rollers 117 are suitable for internal transport where greater smoothness and silence are required during product movement. They can be used for gravity conveyor with light, medium and heavy loads.

Steel or PVC tube with a polyamide head

The steel or PVC structure gives the roller high impact resistance. Thanks to the absorbent properties of the materials used, the product is particularly elastic, maintaining its original shape and full functionality even upon impact. The polyamide head, on the other hand, provides excellent mechanical properties and a low coefficient of friction.

Also available in stainless steel

For the food sector, where hygiene is extremely important, conveyor rollers 117 in their stainless steel version can be requested. This material is highly sought after for its anti-corrosive properties and its ability to withstand frequent washings without compromising product functionality.

Optional

Double rollers

Double rollers are a type of conveyor component used in material handling systems, consisting of two parallel rollers mounted on a single shaft. This design provides increased load-bearing capacity, enhanced stability, and smooth operation for the movement of materials. Double rollers are commonly employed in applications where higher strength or support is required, such as in heavy-duty conveyors, or for ensuring even distribution of material across the conveyor system. They are especially effective in preventing misalignment, reducing friction, and improving the overall efficiency and longevity of the conveyor system.

Optional

Double rollers + PVC covered rollers

Double rollers with PVC-covered rollers are commonly used in material handling systems, particularly in conveyor applications. These rollers consist of two parallel shafts, each mounted with a set of rollers, providing enhanced stability and support for the conveyed materials. The PVC covering on the rollers offers several benefits, including increased durability, improved grip, and reduced friction, making them ideal for handling various types of materials, including lightweight, fragile, or delicate products. The combination of double rollers and PVC covers ensures smooth and reliable operation, even in demanding environments, while minimizing wear and tear on both the rollers and the conveyed materials.

Optional

PVC covered rollers

Although not special, information on this design is given. The rough or zinc plated steel tube “N” or “Z and J” rollers with “D” values as per table, can be covered with a soft, elastic and smooth surface (hardness 73 ShA) grey colour (RAL 9006) PVC (Polyvinylchloride) plastic tube, particularly resistant to chemical agents. It is normally used to protect the roller surfaces and mostly to avoid scratching painted, enamelled, smooth, etc. load, and in some cases to increase friction. The PVC lagging is simply fitted on the tube with excellent coupling thanks to elastic tightening. Application temperatures ranging from -10°C to +50°C.

Optional

PVC covered rollers + Round belts transmission

PVC-covered rollers with round belt transmission are a common solution in material handling systems, offering an efficient method for conveying goods. The PVC-covered rollers are designed to provide smooth, durable surfaces that reduce friction and wear, ideal for handling a variety of materials, especially those requiring gentle handling or increased grip. The round belt transmission works by transmitting power through a flexible, round belt, which runs over these rollers, efficiently driving the conveyor system. This combination ensures quiet, low-maintenance operation, enhanced traction, and reliable performance in light to medium-duty applications, such as in food processing, packaging, and logistics. The system's simplicity and adaptability make it suitable for a wide range of conveyor configurations.

Optional

Rilsan coating

Rilsan coated: heat treatment based on Rilsan Polyamide powders of light grey colour, with particular resistance characteristics to chemical agents and wear

Optional

Round belts transmission

A round belt transmission is a type of mechanical drive system commonly used in material handling applications. It consists of a round, flexible belt that transmits power between pulleys, typically made from materials such as rubber, polyurethane, or elastomeric compounds. Round belts are often employed in conveyors, sorters, and other machinery where smooth and quiet operation is essential. The round profile ensures low friction, high efficiency, and the ability to work in compact spaces. These systems are known for their simplicity, ease of installation, and ability to handle moderate power transmission in light to medium-duty applications.

Some questions

Faq
They are constructed with an inclined supporting structure to allow symmetrical and smooth movement of the rollers. When silent conveyor rollers are produced, another important factor to consider is estimating the slope, because each roller has to carry products of different weights.

Thanks to the design developed by Rulmeca, silent conveyor rollers meet any industrial requirement in terms of loads and applications. They do not need electricity or power to operate, resulting in significant money savings.

To achieve better production results, silent conveyor rollers can be integrated with RSR series wheels, wheeled shafts, R121-R122 series minirail, R127 series medirail profiles, heavyrail, OW wheels, ball transfer units, and other solutions available in the catalog.
